The multimillion-euro extension to a medical-device plant in Carrick-on-Shannon will open on July 7th.
The 45,000-square-foot building is part of VistaMed’s plan to increase its workforce by 167.
Construction work has been under way for the past six months on the VistaMed extension in the IDA Business and Technology Park, just off the Dublin Road, in Carrick-on-Shannon.
The industrial space will provide the company with more manufacturing space to make medical devices, such as catheters.
Declan White, VistaMed’s quality and regulatory affair manager, reveals the building is set to open on July 7th.
The building work began late last year, shortly after VistaMed announced it was creating an additional 167 jobs in Carrick, making it the biggest employer in the town.
More than half of those roles have been filled, bringing the company’s workforce to 450 at present, as Declan White explains.
