They were arrested by gardai travelling in a car at Aughadignan in Co. Longford at 1.25am in the early hours of yesterday morning.
The men, one aged nineteen and three in their twenties, were detained at Longford and Granard garda stations.
They were charged in relation to the theft of a silver safe, a shop till and €900 in cash from Esquires coffee shop, Dublin Road, Carrick-on-Shannon, Co. Leitrim.
They were also charged in connection with the alleged theft of cash drawers from a till and cash to the value of €470 from Bells Shop and post office, Newtownforbes in Longford on 2nd August.
Judge Deirdre Gearty refused bail and remanded all four to appear again at Harristown Court next Friday at 11am. Applications for legal aid on behalf of the accused were granted.
