Janusz Jasicki has not been seen since being separated from a group of work colleagues following a wedding party in Carrick-On-Shannon, Co Leitrim, on Saturday night. His brother, Marian, is currently in the town leading the search but as of yet, there has been no trace of the missing 30-year-old.
He told The Irish Sun: “Janusz has been missing one night and one day. “He was at a party, a wedding party with work colleagues in a pub in Carrick-On-Shannon. “The group, about seven or eight of them, left the pub around 8.30pm to go to a boat that one of the men owned on the River Shannon. “However, he wandered off from the group and did not return to the house they rented for the weekend. “We are searching very hard, myself and my brother have come up from Dublin, but it is hard.”
According to a GPS app on his phone, Janusz, who lives in Bray, Co Wicklow, was tracked being around the Cleaheen Cottages, Carraig Ard area. Marian added: “An app on Janusz’s phone showed that he was wandering on about a 200-acre site near the River Shannon at around 10pm. “We’ve tried to contact his phone but it is dead. “His last contact was with his girlfriend at 10.30pm. “The weather has been very bad and wet that has made the search more difficult.
“He was wearing a navy jacket and blue jeans, light clothes and dark colours, so not suitable for the rainy and cold weather. “We have had lots of support from the local gardai in the search but we are still waiting for a Garda helicopter to come up from Dublin to see the area from above.
