Fast Food Company – McDonald’s is to apply for planning permission in Carrick on Shannon. The fast food chain wishes to develop a drive-thru restaurant in Carrick-on-Shannon at Rosebank Retail Park.
McDonald’s is one of the world’s largest fast food retailers operating in 119 countries. The Irish subsidiary has more than 80 restaurants operated by the company and on a franchise basis. It employs almost 1000 people in Ireland, most of whom are in its store operations. The first McDonald’s in Ireland opened on Grafton Street in 1977.
