Tributes are being paid to a “beloved” dad-of-five who died tragically following an incident over the weekend.
Monaghan GAA added: “Monaghan GAA wishes to convey our deepest sympathies to Castleblayney Hurling County Board Delegate Catriona McCarney (Quirke), the McCarney and Quirke families on the very sad and untimely passing of Enda. Ar Dheis Dé go raibh a anam.”
Condolences for the family have also been rolling in from friends and members of the local community in Scotstown.
Gardai responded to reports that a man had entered the water and subsequently carried out searches, with a body later recovered from the River Shannon that evening.
His funeral Mass will be held at St Mary’s Chapel, Urbleshanny for 11am on Thursday followed by Cremation in Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan.
